Well....
Getting started with Flying Raven Studios was exciting, yet hilarious and terrifying at the same time. We had no idea what we were doing at all.
Yes, there was the normal steep learning curve around cameras, sound, lighting and editing and all that while trying to paint a model at the same time.

On this part we had some help from my friend John. John is an amazing photographer and videographer and he helped us no end with the technical camera malarky. If you enjoy your gardening, he has an awesome channel you should check out on “My Gardening Journey” (My Gardening Journey – YouTube).
But despite all that help, on such a steep learning curve things you probably never even thought of would still jump up and bite you.

For example,
Have you ever tried to paint something to the best of your ability with a camera bolted to a stand sitting right in front of your face?
You would not believe the number of times I would subconsciously move my hands so I could see what I was doing and later realise that the model was not even in shot for ages.
Or the time my dog chewed up a full memory card.

Or stand in front of a camera for over an hour trying to get the words out right….
Then only realising at the editing stage that I had forgotten to turn on the microphone (now that one was heartbreaking).
But I guess it’s the same as painting. It’s not about perfection, it’s about improvement.
